"First I do, then I wonder. Work comes out of work, in an enduring a love affair with materials. When I developed a printing process using paint and glass plates, I came upon lifelike textures, that delighted me so much, that I presented them singularly on sheets of smooth white paper.

Here these textures are brought into my painting practice using patterns, rhythms and layering. Large canvasses, some lush and lyrical, others sensual and earthy, make reference to the beach, that meeting place of sand, sea and sun, where all life must have begun. While the paintings may look raw and unfinished, they attempt to let you smell that sea wind, hear the crashing waves, and experience a 'Low Tide High.'"
